Template
Design:
The steps are the same as the Custom Website
Design process above but because the layout
is predetermined the process is usually quicker.
*If your site is designed with the use of
one of my templates the original template
will remain my property unless stipulated
otherwise.
Rates:
The real cost of your project will not
be known until every detail is determined.
To begin the process please fill out my quote
request form. Be sure to provide as much
detail as possible.
Payment
Options:
MoneyGram, Western Union and
PayPal.
Design
Items:
Domain
Name:
Choosing A
Domain Name (name of your site).
This is the first step to do. Choose
any name you like then check to see
if it available. There is a cost for
registering domain names and prices
vary greatly depending on which company
you choose. Typically you would register
your name for a year but there are
longer contracts available. I can do
your domain search and step you through
the process for a small fee.
Layout:
I build normal
website's (html), custom Flash website's
or a mixture of both. You can use my templates to
help with your decision. I also suggest
surfing the web for a site that you
like, save the URL (http://...) and
send it to me.
Images:
How Many Images
Do You Want On Your Site? This will vary greatly depending
on what type of site your building.
The very basics are your logo and a
background image.
Logo:
Do You Have
Or Need To Make A Business Logo? Every site needs a logo. It's
your way of standing out from others.
It can be simple or an extravagant
flash production. Either way it will
be your unique image identifying your
business. If you already have one that's
great. If you don't I can make one
for you at a very reasonable price.
Linking:
How Will You
Link To Other Pages? Linking to other pages seems like
a no brainer but you do have a few
choices in this area. In your header
you can use text or rollover links
(images that change when your curser
rolls over them) for linking to your
sites main pages. Then use regular
text links in the body of your pages.
If your site is going to have a lot
of pages then using Drop Down Menu's
is also a good option.
Number
Of Pages:
How Many Pages
Do You Need? Typical pages are: Home, Photo
Album, Contact, Terms, Policy, About
Us, and Maps. Of course you can have
as many as you like but keep in mind
that you want your visitors to easily
find what they are looking for.
Sales:
Are You Going
To Sell Services Or Items? If your site is going to offer
services or items for sale you will
need an online payment method. I suggest Paypal.
I think they are the quickest and easiest
way to receive payments.
Colors:
What Colors
Will You Use? If you already know the colors
your going to use that's great but
if not you can search the web for more
ideas.
Guestbook:
Do You Want
A Guestbook? Guest Books are typically used
on personal sites but can be used on
any site. Some Guest Books are free
but usually display ads unless you
pay a fee.
Site
Hosting:
Where
Will You Host Your Site? When your site
has been completed
you will need to put
it somewhere so that
others can view it.
The company that holds
your website's files
on their server (computer)
for others to view
would be your host.
Updates:
How Will
You Update Your Site? Updating can be
done by you. This is
the best option if
you have the software
and the experience
or I can do it for
you at a very reasonable
rate. We also offer
setup of Content Management
Systems (CMS) which
will allow you to edit
selected pages or areas
of your website online
at your convenience.This
is a great option if
you host with us and
need frequent updates.
Meta
Tags:
Meta Tags for Search Engines. These are the
words and code that
search engines use
to find your site.
They are embeded into
your source code and
should refer to the
context of your site.
I will help you with
this.
Disk
Space:
The Host
(company) that you choose to upload
your website's files to will keep
them on their server (computer).
The amount of space you choose to
purchase on that server is called "Disk
Space" or "Storage Size".
If you use Windows Explorer and want
to figure out how much space you
will need you can right click on
the folder that holds all of your
site files and select "Properties".
Generally, you should purchase 50%
more than needed to insure enough
space for future additions to your
website but with most hosts you can
purchase more later if needed.
